Seeking a highly capable, standalone, financial accountant to hit the ground running following a generous handover period

The Role
The key requirement for this new role is to find a candidate whose suitability is based more upon genuine depth of relevant accounting experience than on just academic accounting qualifications.
Thus it is essential that you have several years of relevant accounting experience in medium to large NZ manufacturing, construction or similar environments.
You must be a commercially savvy self-starter who will roll your sleeves up and hit the ground running with minimal training.
Candidates who have a proven performance record in both permanent and contracting roles with be highly favoured.
It should go without saying that you will have expert understanding of financial detail and a full understanding of a chart of accounts while also being comfortable maintaining routine tasks with absolute accuracy.
Candidates should be comfortable presenting information to senior managers and non-accountants and generally display superior business communications skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting;
• Manage invoicing, cash-flow, debtors and creditors;
• Bank, GL and balance sheet reconciliations;
• Maintenance of fixed assets;
• Accurate and timely filing of all statutory returns;
• Assist in the preparation of short term and annual budgets and provide on-going variance analysis;
• Oversee and approve payroll and manage leave balances
• Actively promote quality assurance policy and procedures;
• Review and develop finance systems and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
• A formal NZ accounting qualification is required.
• Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, construction or industrial environment is preferred
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Remuneration is generous and will be commensurate with experience.
